Fun things happen when you hangout with the Internet

No, this isn't a celebrity sighting, but Huey Lewis made a visit on stage with a band I saw last night.

Wanting, for once, not to go see a show by myself, I met up with fellow NYCers through a music trading website I've been on for the last four years. Phishhook has been my fail-safe spot for all sorts of randomness these past years, and seeing that some regulars were going to this one show, I decided to join them. There were about ten of us perched in the balcony behind the soundboard (eerily similar to Denver phishhook concert gatherings) and beers and beers.

We then received a rumor that Huey Lewis would be on stage and sure enough he came out and played a mean harmonica on a couple of bluesy tunes. He came out again for the encore and we all got to sing along to that 80s classic "Heart and Soul"

Since Friday night was so much fun, I've decided to stay home tonight and watch Oliver Stone's "Nixon" which is turning to be very similar to "JFK" only a bit worse. Although I find it strange that Anthony Hopkins plays a short Nixon, while Paul Sorvino plays a rather tall Henry Kissinger. Go figure.
